Job Summary: |
This position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the turf management department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the maintenance, repair, painting, fertilizing, spraying cultural practices and mowing the athletics fields and Intramural fields , fertilization, mowing, irrigation, field painting and preparation for athletic contests, game day set up for Ford Stadium and Wescott Field. |

Education and Experience: |
A high school diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of 1 year of work experience is required for this position.
Experience in the collegiate or professional athletic filed maintenance is strongly desired. Considerable experience in the operation and maintenance of athletic field facilities is preferred.
Must possess a TX driver’s license and a clear MVR. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: |
The ideal candidate should have considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, equipment and tools used in the maintenance of athletic fields. Some knowledge of effective supervisory methods and techniques is desirable.
Knowledge of the hazards and necessary safety precautions in the general labor and maintenance work is preferred. Candidate should show skill in demonstrating and teaching proper use and care of tools and equipment in athletic field maintenance. Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to manage CMMS and basic knowledge of Word and Excel applications is preferred.
Some evening and weekend work is required for scheduled work. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule. |
